Merrill Goldenberg, Ph.D. President
Dr. Goldenberg is the President of GoldenNeuro, GoldenBiotech and The Right Idea. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics and Medicinal Chemistry, University of the Pacific, School of Pharmacy. He recently established GoldenNeuro, being both President and Principal Investigator on this project. The company is developing and optimizing delivery vehicles for genetic medicines into the brain to treat neurodegenerative diseases. He has over 40 years of industrial biopharma experience, including, 10 years as President of GoldenBiotech (GB) where he established programs on novel sustained release ocular delivery systems to treat glaucoma (patent). Before GB, he spent 22 years at Amgen, where his last position was Scientific Director, Formulation and Analytical Resources, in the Process and Product Development Department –including sustained and controlled drug release, formulation of DNA/ proteins/antibodies/peptides. His group’s efforts led to one of Amgen’s key products Neulasta ($2+Billion sales, 2020). Prior to Amgen, He was a Research Fellow for Ciba-Geigy (now Novartis) in its Central Research Department, where he worked on drug delivery systems and biomaterials. One of these programs led to a marketed high water containing polymeric contact lens. Dr. Goldenberg holds approximately 20 granted U.S. patents and is the author of numerous publications.
